Software architecture and consulting
We make the hard technical decisions with you: scalable system design, modernisation roadmaps and expert support so your team builds better software.
Technical decisions with measurable impact
A bad architectural decision is paid for years later. We audit your current system, identify bottlenecks and risks, and define a target architecture that scales and aligns with your business strategy. We document every relevant decision with ADRs (Architecture Decision Records) so the team always knows why each choice was made. We measure the impact of every proposal in cost, time and risk, so you decide with numbers, not opinions.
We work alongside your team
Consulting is worthless if the knowledge stays in a PDF. We work shoulder to shoulder with your developers: code reviews, design sessions, clean architecture mentorship and real knowledge transfer. We leave when your team can carry on alone, with criteria and autonomy. Our goal is that you need us less and less: every week your team gains autonomy and technical judgement.
What the consulting covers
- Architectural audit of existing systems
- Design of scalable, resilient systems
- Modernisation roadmaps with clear milestones
- Documented Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
- Mentoring and training for development teams
- Code reviews and design sessions
Software consulting for companies that want to grow on solid ground
We have spent nearly 27 years designing systems that grow with the business: from SME applications to platforms with millions of users. If your development team is growing and needs a senior software architect to set the course, if you are considering a move to microservices, or if you want an expert second opinion before a critical technology decision, we help you get it right the first time.
How our consulting works
A clear process that starts with data and ends with a stronger team.
Analysis and diagnosis
We study your code, infrastructure and development processes. We talk to your team and review documentation and metrics to get an accurate picture of where you are today.
Proposal and roadmap
We present the findings and a target architecture with a phased roadmap: what to do first, what can wait and what is not worth doing. Everything with estimated impact and effort.
Execution support
We work inside your team: we lead the key implementations, review code and answer questions in design sessions. Knowledge is transferred by working together, not through slides.
Handover and autonomy
We document decisions with ADRs, train your team on the new architecture and close the engagement when the team can fly solo. We remain available for occasional reviews.
Frequently asked questions about architecture consulting
How is your consulting different from an audit?
An audit only diagnoses; consulting accompanies the execution. We do not deliver a report and disappear: we work with your team until the improvements are implemented and the knowledge transferred.
How long does a consulting engagement last?
It depends on scope: a one-off architectural review can be done in 2-3 weeks; modernisation support typically lasts 3 to 6 months. We define clear milestones so you can measure progress and decide at every phase.
Do you work with in-house teams or outsourced software?
Both. It is common for us to supervise projects built by third parties: we check that the architecture and code deliver what was promised and give you the independent technical view you need to negotiate with your vendor.
What is an ADR and why do you use them?
An ADR (Architecture Decision Record) is a short note documenting an important technical decision: the context, the options evaluated and the reason for the choice. It prevents nobody knowing in two years why something was done, and avoids contradictory decisions.
